While the Annapurna region ranks among the top ten trekking destinations in the world, the Everest region which is located in the northeast from Kathmandu is certainly the most popular destination for trekkers in Nepal, located in the northeast of Nepal. Everest trekking via Jiri is one of the most rewarding and challenging treks in the Everest region. Starting from Jiri the trek passes through the Sherpa village and beautiful Buddhist monasteries. From Jiri it takes several days to reach Namche. The classic route from Jiri to Everest was used by the trekking & mountaineering expeditions prior to the airstrip at Lukla came into existence.
You will encounter with the people of different ethnic group like Sherpas, Rais, Tamangs, Brahmins, and Chhetris on your way.
