Passport:
You must hold at a valid passport with at least six months valid period to obtain a visa for traveling into the Tibet. Remember those tourists are grated the visas only in group travel through recognized travel agencies. If you wish visit Tibet via Nepal, make sure that you obtain a multiple visa entry from Kathmandu.

Who has to carry a Tibet Travel Permit?

1. The Taiwan tourists, who do not have the valid identity card of China
2. Non-Chinese passport holders.
3. The overseas Chinese, who do not have Chinese passport

Note: The Hong Kong and Macau citizens who hold SAR passport, Home-Visiting Certificate or Permit to Traveling to and from Hong Kong and Macau do not need a Tibet Travel Permit.

Visa Procedure in Kathmandu:
Please note that if you’re traveling to Lhasa via Nepal, you must obtain a visa from the Chinese consulate in Kathmandu, even if you already hold a Chinese visa from other places.

If you wish to obtain the visa through us, please make a confirmed reservation at least two weeks before your visit so that we may work with the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. If you want the visa within 3 days of application, the Embassy charges extra visa rush fee.
