Nepalis are great festival makers.

The Dasain & Tihar: Dasain & Tihar, which begin just after the ending of monsoons in October, are a month-long season of festivals mostly celebrated by Nepali Hindus. The festivals may be called the Nepali version of Indian festivals the Durshera & Diwali.

Buddha Jayanti: Celebration of Buddha’s birth in Nepal’s Kapilvastu, & his enlightenment on a full-moon day of March.

Losar: A festival celebrated by three different ethnic groups from different religions in their own way.

Bibahpanchami(the Marriage Anniversary): A festival celebrated in December in the Southern Town of Janakpur to commenmorate Sita’s marriage with Lord Ram described in ancient Hindu scripture the Ramayana. The groom’s party comes from India’s Ayodhya, bringing thousands of devotees from India & Nepal.

Chatha: People of all faith, Hindu, Muslim, & Christians living in the Terai region, worship the Sun God during the festival – making it to go by the nickname of a “secular festival”.

Eid: A festival celebrated by Nepali Muslims with all Muslims in the world after the one-month long Ramadan fastings.

Christmas: The trend of celebrating Christmas is also gaining popularity in urban places like Kathmandu and Pokhara.
