Because of its diverse terrain, the weather/climate is Bhutan differs accordingly. The weather/climate patterns too are somewhat similar to Nepal’s. The three topographical regions make three climatic zones. The southern plain are hot & humid, and temperature falls as you go highers. The effects of the Monsoon can be seen in Bhutan as well. July receives the heaviest rainfall. In winter, temperature falls to minus zero.

Himalayan regions
Less than 500mm per year.
Inner central valleys
500mm to 1000mm per year.
Southern foothills
2000mm to 3500mm per year.
Southern border area
3000mm to 5000mm per year. |
